1. What do I need to bring?
Linens are provided for you. You are responsible for all towels, bathing and beach, as well as, consumable (soap, shampoo, dish soap, etc).
2. Do you accept pets?
We love pets, however the answer is no.
3. How do I book?
Just call us! We love to get phone calls. If you are shy, send us an email.
4. How do I pay?
We only accept cash, cheque or e-transfer.
5. How do I reserve my cottage for next year?
We hold all cottages for our returning guests until March 1st of the following year. For example: If you stayed in Cottage 1 from July 1- July 8 in 2017, then we will hold Cottage 1 from June 30 - July 7 in 2018 until March 1st 2018. All that is required by you, is to give us a call, or email before that deadline and you are rebooked. Please follow up the booking with your deposit.
6. How do I get on the waiting list for a new booking or an additional cottage?
Come January of the year you are interested in booking, we begin taking names for our waiting list. We will not confirm any new bookings until after our March 1st deadline. After March 1st, we get that sacred list and start the amazing puzzle to best look after as many people interested as possible. We then contact those of you who are interested and do our best to look after your requests. We would love for everyone to experience time at Clearview with friends and family, so we do our best to accommodate that.
7. Do you have internet?
Welcome to the country! We have free wifi internet access at our store, but don’t think it is as consistent or as fast as the city.
8. Does it cost extra to participate or use any equipment on the property?
We believe it is your job to have fun during your holiday without the added stress of additional charges, so activities and equipment provided are free of charge. This includes our twice-weekly waterskiing and tubing. * Please note: motorized rental boats do have an additional charge.
9. Where can I buy beer and (groceries) ?
Your in luck! We have a 24 hour grocery store in Lakefield a short 7 minute drive away, as well as a fabulous butcher and vegetable market. There is also a Beer Store and LCBO. Don’t feel like driving? Our local general store carries your basics including liquor and beer. For any bigger items like Costco size, Peterborough has a Costco, Walmart, Canadian Tire, etc.
10. What if I don’t want to cook?
Walk to one of the 3 restaurants we have close by, the chip truck or order in! Pizza is just a phone call away. For more dining options, Lakefield and Peterborough have pubs, Tim Hortons, chain restaurants and fine dining as well.
11. I need coffee but everyone in my cottage is asleep, what do I do?
Come visit us at the store. We have coffee on every morning, why do you think we are so bubbly? And even better… It’s Free!
12. Do you have electronics in the cottages?
There are no phone, tv, microwave or stereos provided. You are welcome to bring your own.
13. Can I have a bonfire?
Yes! We have a communal bonfire pit with firewood provided free of charge. We also enjoy listening to our talented musicians singing bonfire songs and sharing stories. Also, feel free to toast marshmallows, hot dogs or use your own pie iron, if you desire to bring these along for the type of experience.
14. I am a BBQ royal, can I show my skills at the cottage?
Your family and friends, will be able to rate your skills, because every cottage has their own gas bbq, propane included free of charge.
15. Is the water safe to drink?
Our water system is safe to drink! It is tested daily and sent out for government testing as well. We encourage you to bring your own water bottle, and refill it reducing the environmental impact caused by plastic bottles.
